- In this message, I began by saying that the world we live in has long abandoned the idea of absolute truth, for relative truth – my truth is mine, your truth is yours! Do a little thinking on these 2 words, “absolute” and “relative” and ask yourself, why do people not accept the idea of absolute truth?
- If Jesus is who He says He is, as the agent of creation, what does that mean? Discuss the implications of what that means in practice.
- Today, mankind has set itself to redefine everything from gender to rejecting and redefining institutions like marriage. What are the implications of those things?
- He is the Image of the Invisible God, and the firstborn of all creation. The first is in relation to the other members of the Godhood, the second, in relationship to His agency in all that has been made. Both point to Jesus as Lord of and over creation. The most obvious thing about His Lordship is that He owns me. Even if I were not a follower, He would still own me. What does it mean that He is Lord? Think on this, if He is Sovereign, what is sin? If He is Lord over all created physical life, what is secular and what is sacred? Or have both of those terms been eradicated now for the Christian?
- I said, “He defines what a man and a woman is, how we got here, what our purpose is. He defines what are the relationships of both sexes. And His preferred pronouns, when it comes to the creation of mankind, is he and she,” because He is the agent of all creation. How does that affect your discussion in these modern times?
- Lastly, if He is sovereign, what does that make me? And yet, we will reign with Him! If He is Sovereign, how should I worship Him?
